Mathieu Bringer has founded BRINGER IP law firm in 2016 after serving for more than 15 years in various Intellectual property law firms in Europe and in Asia. He was for 4 years the General Manager in China of a French IP firm, he has set-up and managed the Chinese Desk of a Belgian IP law firm, and has managed their french regional office for 3 years. He has also worked during two years in Vietnam to set-up Franco-Vietnamese projects in the field of scientific research. Mathieu has lived more than 20 years abroad since his childhood, including around 15 years in Asia.

 

Mathieu is specialized in defining international tailored strategies to protect the creations of innovative companies in Europe and in Asia. He analyses the patentability of creations, follows examination proceedings and issuance of patents, files oppositions against patents of competitors, organizes the transfer of intellectual property rights, studies possible freedom to operate issues, analyzes the validity of patents of third parties, and undertakes litigation actions. Mathieu is totally fluent in French and in English and can work in Spanish and Mandarin.

 

In addition to its attorney work, Mathieu is also teaching at the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Academy based in Geneva. He is tutoring the advanced courses in Intellectual Property, the basics of Patent Drafting course, the Patent Information Search course, and the Intellectual Property Management course.

Mathieu is also an expert for the EU funded project "China IPR Helpdesk" whose mission is to provide technical and legal advices to EU SMEs doing business in China.

 

When not dealing with Intellectual Property, Mathieu appreciates hiking or snowboarding the Pyrenean mountains or training for his next marathon.
